Human/Nature Collection

Part 1 - Ego Dancing

This developing series explores the interaction between human nature and the nature of the earth; the way the separation between humans and nature is a disconnection from one's own self. It deals with the fluidity and naturalness of emotions and the internal state, the movement of expansion and contraction that dances between the living bodies and energies of this world, and the masks that only humans wear, which both protect and disconnect them simultaneously.

Behind the rectangle is a gold circle.

Where some of the stars cross into the white background, they turn gold instead of white. On the bottom half of the painting coming from underneath the moth's wings, there are blue and teal leaves. The teal leaves are palm leaves. Scattered through the leaves are gold balls.

Its expression is serious, and black drips from its eyes and mouth. The top of the mask is cracked, and from behind it a cloudy blue explosion extends across the page, spattered with white and red leaves, golden stars, and gold-and-red molecules. Just above the mask a silver planet with a red ring is visible, partially obscured by the blue. At the top on the right is another, smaller silver planet. From below its chin, black roots dangle.

Above the sybol the mask is cracked, and from the crack many tropical plants spring forth, surrounded by a black cloud flecked with stars which drips down on either side of the mask. Sitting in the center of the plants are the face and shoulders of a Brazilian spotted leopard. The background around it is speckled with red stars. At the bottom of the painting under the mask's chin are three horizontally arranged red lines, above a long red triangle.

A white mask of a human face is held in the center of a writhing mass of teal tentacles, which are spattered with red, purple and gold. Their undersides are red, and they are mixed with palm leaves, which turn to negative space where they cross over the tentacles. The mask's eyes are open to reveal black sclera and vivid gold irises. Its expression is serious, and in the center of its forehead is a red circle. A tentacle wraps around to point at the center of the bottom of the page, and underneath its tip are two gold circles.

Part 2 - Shadows and Monsters

This developing series is an exploration and expression of personal, individual, and collective human shadows. The rejected and repressed pieces whose exile separates us from each other, from our nature, from nature itself, and from reality.

It descends under the mask and expands into a cloud surrounded by lush green plants and a few bright red berries. Underneath the plants there are black drips. Behind it all there is an inverted gold triangle and some black stars.

The top of the face is cracked open and a black and gold cloud poofs out from it, as well as a tiny green plant sprout. The sprout is red at the base, where it grows from the crack. The black cloud drips down behind the mask, turning into a more liquid-like goop. The whole thing is set in front of a burgundy circle. Above it all is a small cluster of gold stars. Below the circle are three golden squares, arranged vertically.

The face has golden antlers that span out to surround the city on both sides. Behind the face and under the cloud is the lower half of a dark blue circle. At the bottom of the circle gold drips down towards the bottom of the page. On either side of the gold are purple and red orchids. There is a single purple and red orchid in the center of the face's forehead with cracks in the face coming from behind it.

Part 3 - Spirits

This future series is an exploration and expression of the ephemeral pieces of humanity: soul, spirit, energy.

The top of the face dissolves into a dark blue cloud speckled with white stars that stretches outwards on each side. One star is halfway outside the cloud, and where it is no longer over the blue, it turns gold instead of white. On either side of the face are white masks, somewhat like theatre masks. Each mask faces outward, away from the face. The mask on the left is slightly higher than the one on the right. All three faces are situated above a gold half-circle. Under the chin of the blue face are three black balls, arranged vertically and getting smaller as they move downward. The last ball is outside the golden circle.

Part 4 - Shadow and Childe

This future series is an exploration and expression of the Inner Child in all its manifestations; the shadows, the innocence, the pain and the rebellions, and the inescapable connections between them.
